**Project Name:** Commercial Washrooms Configurator

**Project Brief:** The objective was to develop an online application that allows potential and existing customers to configure a washroom by selecting from a variety of colours and sanitaryware options, which can then be sent to a sales representative for a quote. There will be five configurators in total: male, female, nursery, school, and disabled washrooms.

**Project Overview:** This online configurator aims to enable both potential and existing customers of commercial washrooms to create their ideal washroom specifications and submit these specifications to a sales advisor for a quote. The goal is to expedite the design process that typically occurs between the sales team and customers. Customers can choose from 46 standard colours, hundreds of different toilets, urinals, vanities, taps, and basins, in addition to various cubicle options. The start of the design process can often feel overwhelming; however, the configurator allows customers to experiment with different colours and options at their own pace, creating multiple designs as they wish. This feature grants customers the freedom to design without consuming excessive time and resources from the design team.

Research indicates that users who engage with a business online are significantly more likely to make a purchase, as these interactions foster a sense of connection and trust with the brand, leading to greater customer engagement and, ultimately, higher conversion rates.

The project was divided into several stages:
1. 3D room creation, adding assets and colours, rendering test images for experimentation within 3D Vista.
2. User interface design.
3. Integration of the UI design and rendering images into 3D Vista.

The first configurator developed was the male washroom. However, we encountered issues with load times, so I explored using a loading page with a video to improve user experience; unfortunately, this did not enhance continued use. In response, I reduced image quality and eliminated less important color choices, such as those for floors and walls.
